From: Chris N: settleforless was a ska-punk-core band formed in Grand Island in the summer of 99, and later moved to Lincoln. They mostly played Lincoln and Omaha, frequenting the then bustling Cog Factory. One of the original suckapunch bands, settleforless was geared towards the younger all ages crowds. Brent Heath moving away to college and Brad moving to Cali basically threw the band in a downward spiral trying to cover for them. Chris moved to trombone and 2 different guitar players were tried for awhile to no avail until Elliott took over in 2003. Eventually Brad moved home, and the band moved forward, trying to incorporate some more folk/irish influence in the music. Somewhere in 2003 a decision was made to scrap the ska routine and go the route of the growing folk punk genre. Joy joined the band, Ben Swift eventually took over on drums, and Chris Moved to accoustic guitar, and pat to accordion. Only a few shows were played under this lineup Differences in opinions on band direction led Brant, Joy and Elliott to quit the band. Chris, Brad, Ben, and Pat decided to move on and formed 'the killigans' with new bass, fiddle, and electric guitar players.
