Capitol Punishment was a zine put out by Bill Jones, who was in D.K.ed Willies, Pogrom, and Baby Hotline and his brother Jim, who was in Pogrom and Ex-Machina. Their zine documented the Lincoln music scene of the early 1980s. At first it was just the print zine with band info, photos, lyrics, drawings etc, but they began including along with the zine, a casette of Lincoln bands. Their Tapes gave exposure to bands like The Click, Rapid Vapid, Hymn To Joy, Twisted Justice, Pogrom, Cartoon Pupils, Holiday, and many other bands of the day. Many of the bands that had songs on a Capitol Punishment comp were recorded by Bill or Matthew Sweet
